    Tucson

  • Where is the event?
    The Tucson HungerWalk will start and end at the Sam Lena Recreation Area, part of the Kino Sports Center Complex, on the North West the intersection of Ajo and South Country Club.
  • Where should I park?
    Parking is available on either side of the Mulcahy YMCA, the Kino Service Center, the Adult Probation Office and the Kino Sports Complex South of Ajo. We highly encourage carpooling!
  • How far is the walk? Is it a race? Do I have to walk the whole route?
    The 1.5 mile walk is not a race. The family-friendly route includes a visit to our distribution warehouse — so you can see first-hand where donations come in, get sorted, and go right back out the door to feed our neighbors in need. Mid-route, you'll have a chance to cool-off indoors and learn more about how we serve the community — thanks to your support. We recommend you walk the entire loop route.

    Bike? No.

  • What time does the event start? When do we walk and how long will it take?
    Day-of Registration opens at 7am and the walk begins at 8am. The walk can be completed within 90 minutes from start to finish. Walkers will be treated to a light breakfast after the race, along with music and fun, family activities.
  • How do I register?

    Participants can also register by mail or in person the day of the event. Paper registration forms will be available beginning August 1. More information about registering, joining a team, or starting a team can be found in our handy guide.
  • Where does the money go?
    The money raised for the HungerWalk stays here at your Community Food Bank and will go directly to all of our hunger assistance programs.
  • What if I am unable to attend the walk, but still want raise funds for the Community Food Bank?
    You can register to be a virtual walker! Virtual walkers can register online, raise funds, and receive a HungerWalk t-shirt.
  • Can I pick my t-shirt up before the walk?
    Yes! Tucson walk participants can pick their t-shirts up early at the following times and locations:

    Green Valley

  • Where is the event?
    The Green Valley HungerWalk will be held on the La Posada campus, at the corner of Continental Road and Park Center Ave. The "Start" line is in front of Posada Java, which is at the entrance to La Posada.
  • How far is the walk? Is it a race? Do I have to walk the whole route?
    You have two options in the Green Valley HungerWalk; the 2.8 mile option takes you around the outer edge of the beautiful La Posada campus. The .8 mile option takes you through the La Posada campus and then back to Continental Road. This walk is not a race and participants can walk at their own pace.

  • What time does the event start? When do we walk and how long will it take?
    Registration at both locations opens at 7am and the walk begins at 8am. The walk can be completed within 90 minutes from start to finish. Walkers will be treated to a breakfast after the race, and will have the opportunity to buy tickets for a raffle where you can win great prizes!

  • How do I purchase tickets for the raffle?
    Every registered walker will receive one free raffle ticket! Additional raffle tickets can be purchased the day of the event for $1.
